Meet Sonia Castro

Sonia Castro has proudly called Homestead home for more than 20 years. A devoted wife and mother of four, she has raised her family here and cares deeply about the city’s future and long-term sustainability.

Sonia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science Administration from Florida International University in 2006, followed by a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2008. Today, she provides at-home physical therapy care for patients of all ages, including hundreds of families right here in Homestead.

Before moving to Malibu Bay, Sonia lived in the Waterstone community for 17 years, where she served as President of her HOA and dedicated 15 years to the Waterstone CDD Board.

As a strong advocate for preserving Homestead’s quality of life, Sonia is running for City Council to stop reckless overdevelopment, lower taxes and fees for residents, and work alongside Mayor Losner to cut wasteful spending at City Hall.
